Hey Columbia,  my name’s Wilfred. I’m the new director of web/multimedia at CCSC this year serving under the Communications Committee, and on behalf of the council, I want to welcome you all to our brand new website called yourCCSC to replace the old one at iamlightblue.com.

I have named our new website “yourCCSC” because it reflects the mission of this year’s council – we’re trying to be less abstract, more personal, and most of all, we want to be recognized as a force that’s fighting for your interests and the College within the vast network of the larger University. We’re all involved in the council because we care about Columbia College, and so it is our duty as an elected student council to make sure we’re working for your interests.

This site will be updated with fresh content very often. My personal hope is that the site can serve you by keeping you on top of what’s going on at school. On yourCCSC, you’ll find an archive of the weekly “Alma Matters” event listing emails, CCSC-related campus news, and important documents and forms for student group leaders. I also hope that yourCCSC will deliver on the council’s promise of transparency by helping you stay informed about what the council’s up to and how the council’s work is benefiting Columbia College. Most importantly, I want the site to be a place where each and every member of the student body can feel free to discuss campus events, talk to CCSC, and voice important issues and concerns.

I will be spearheading the council’s new multimedia push, with videos from your elected representatives that will show you the personal side of CCSC, explain in detail what we aim to accomplish, and help make our school’s bureaucracy seem a little less daunting. Also, look forward to lots of pretty pictures. Check them out by hitting the ‘Multimedia’ tab to the top right! We’ve already got a few posted.

The site is brand new at this point, and we do need help. We have all sorts of roles open, from blogging to photography to video creation to graphic design. It’s a great opportunity to get involved.
