On Monday, November 28, twelve members of the Class of 2015 had the opportunity to attend “Burgers with Shollenberger,” a dinner and discussion in Lerner Hall with Kevin Shollenberger, Columbia’s Dean of Student Affairs. The students were selected from a lottery and represented interests ranging from African-American Studies to Computer Science.

Leading the discourse with a Mel’s burger in hand, the Dean talked about his personal background, his role in the Division of Student Affairs, and his team’s current projects. The first-year students then discussed their experiences at Columbia so far and voiced concerns and offered feedback about what Student Affairs can do to improve student life.

This event is one of many sponsored by CCSC 2015 to link new Columbia students with the administration and the resources available to them as first-years. To stay updated on future opportunities, “Like” Columbia College Student Council 2015 on Facebook by clicking here.
