Jake Lefker, like James Bennet II, is a junior at CU. But that’s obvious. What’s not so obvious is that Jake is a dancing fiend. A member of Sabor, Columbia’s Latino Dance Troupe, he loves to dance salsa, bachata, merengue, hip-hop and modern. You may have even seen him in Orchesis performances over the last two years as well.

The Academic co-Chair of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, he has organized events that provided students the opportunity to interact with and learn from the experiences of Latin@ CU professors. As Social co-Chair of HSF last year, he was one of the humble masterminds behind HSF’s amazing annual fall party, FUEGO.

A political science and Spanish major, he envisions himself working to create policy change in his native Colombia.  Oh, and he’s always smiling…always. Lastly, he would like to thank his awesome hair for catching the eye of the individual with great taste who nominated him for this outstanding honor.
