The Campus Life Committee of CCSC was created to build community within Columbia College and across the university. Our events are meant to encourage students and help them further enjoy the campus that they are on everyday. Over the years, we have made an increased effort to collaborate with other student groups to help bring our diverse community together. In addition, we are making an effort to do more events that address a wide variety of interests. The committee is always open to new members and new event ideas so please feel free to reach out to us!

We collaborated with the Columbia Art of Living Club (CAL), the Bhakti Club, Go Ask Alice!, Columbia Dining and Counseling and Psychological Services (CPS). The four undergraduate student councils invite you to attend the annual Tree Lighting and Yule Log Ceremonies this December 1. Each year, students come together to light the trees on College Walk, enjoy wonderful performances by their peers and hear words of wisdom and encouragement from their faculty and administrators. Thursday, November 3rd marks the return of Columbia’s annual Basketball Mania event. Starting at 9:30 p.m. in Levien Gymnasium, the night will feature live entertainment, performances by Columbia’s Spirit Groups, on-court competitions, and your Men and Women’s Basketball teams. During the last CCSC event, students got to see a part of the Core that is often overlooked in general classroom discussions. Saturday was Homecoming, and it was incredible! After a week of great CCSC activities leading up to the big game, we had a huge turnout as students came up to Baker to cheer on the Lions. Wednesday was the third day of Homecoming Week and took all of us back to an old school classic: Arts & Crafts. Columbia students came out and decorated t-shirts to show their school spirit. Today’s Homecoming Week event was CU Blue, where we gave away dozens and dozens of cupcakes and soda to spirited students. The Lerner ramps were packed with Columbians proudly donning as much blue apparel as possible.
